Volvo EX60 Electric SUV Debuts with Up to 810 km Range and Google AI
Volvo has officially unveiled the all new Volvo EX60, a fully electric premium crossover designed to redefine the brand’s position in the global EV segment. The model is positioned as a technological breakthrough and will be offered exclusively with battery electric powertrains. European deliveries are scheduled to start in summer, while pricing details for most markets have not yet been disclosed.
The EX60 enters one of the most competitive classes in the premium SUV market, combining long range capability, advanced driver assistance systems and deep integration with digital services. For customers in Europe and the Middle East, including those considering electric car rental in Dubai, this model highlights the direction Volvo is taking with future zero emission vehicles.

Dimensions, aerodynamics and practicality
With an overall length of 4803 mm and a wheelbase of 2970 mm, the Volvo EX60 is a mid size premium crossover designed strictly for five passengers. The luggage compartment offers up to 1647 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded, while an additional 85 liters are available in the front trunk, which is particularly useful for charging cables.
The exterior design follows Volvo’s modern styling language but introduces a more sloping front section and a rounded roofline with inclined rear pillars. This approach allowed engineers to achieve a drag coefficient of just 0.26, improving both efficiency and highway range. These characteristics make the EX60 attractive not only as a family SUV but also as a comfortable long distance electric car.

Powertrain options and performance figures
The Volvo EX60 will be offered with three different electric powertrain configurations. The entry level version, known as EX60 P6, features a single rear mounted electric motor producing 374 hp and 480 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 5.9 seconds, while energy is supplied by an 83 kWh battery providing up to 620 km of range under the WLTP cycle.
The mid level EX60 P10 AWD uses a dual motor all wheel drive setup with a combined output of 510 hp and 710 Nm. This configuration reduces the 0 to 100 km/h sprint to 4.6 seconds and increases battery capacity to 95 kWh. The declared driving range reaches 660 km WLTP, offering a balanced mix of performance and efficiency.
At the top of the lineup sits the EX60 P12 AWD, delivering 680 hp and 790 Nm from two electric motors. This flagship version accelerates to 100 km/h in under four seconds and achieves an impressive WLTP range of up to 810 km thanks to a large 117 kWh battery. All versions are electronically limited to a top speed of 180 km/h, consistent with Volvo’s safety philosophy.

Charging technology and real world usability
Fast charging is one of the key highlights of the Volvo EX60. The vehicle supports DC charging power of up to 400 kW, allowing drivers to recover up to 340 km of range in just 10 minutes under optimal conditions. Charging from 10 to 80 percent can be completed in approximately 19 minutes when connected to a high power station.
Such charging capabilities significantly improve everyday usability and make the EX60 suitable for long trips across Europe or the UAE, where fast charging infrastructure is rapidly expanding. For private owners, Volvo also continues its brand specific program offering free home charging solutions in selected markets.

Volvo EX60 Cross Country for light off road use
Alongside the standard version, Volvo has introduced the EX60 Cross Country, aimed at customers who need enhanced versatility. This variant features a wider track, additional body protection and increased ground clearance of 202 mm. With optional air suspension, clearance can be increased by a further 20 mm.
The Cross Country version will be available exclusively with dual motor all wheel drive powertrains. It combines electric efficiency with mild off road capability, making it suitable for gravel roads, winter conditions or desert access roads common in the UAE.

Digital platform and driver assistance systems
The technological foundation of the Volvo EX60 is built around the Nvidia Drive platform, powered by the AGX Orin chip from Nvidia. In addition, a Qualcomm 8255 processor from Qualcomm handles infotainment and connectivity tasks.
This hardware enables the debut of Navi Pilot Assist, a new generation driver assistance system that supports steering assistance, adaptive lane changes and traffic guidance at speeds of up to 130 km/h. The EX60 also becomes the first production Volvo to feature an adaptive safety belt, capable of adjusting tension based on crash parameters and passenger position.

Google Gemini voice assistant and premium interior
One of the most notable innovations is the integration of a new voice assistant based on Gemini technology from Google. Unlike traditional voice control systems, Gemini allows natural language conversations without predefined commands, enhancing usability for navigation, climate control and media functions.
The interior is further enhanced by a panoramic roof with adjustable transparency and a premium audio system from Bowers & Wilkins. Up to 28 speakers are installed, including units integrated into the headrests of all main seats. Support for Dolby Atmos creates an immersive sound environment rarely seen in this vehicle class.

Market positioning and expected pricing
Although European prices have not yet been announced, Volvo has indicated that a well equipped EX60 in the United States will cost around 60,000 USD. This positions the model competitively among premium electric SUVs while offering significantly longer range than many rivals.
For customers considering electric car rental or long term leasing in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the Volvo EX60 represents a strong future option thanks to its range, fast charging and advanced safety technologies.
