Updated Nissan Ariya Revealed: Refreshed Design, Smarter Tech, and Enhanced Comfort

Nissan is preparing to unveil the updated version of its all-electric SUV, the Ariya, later this month at the Japan Mobility Show. The brand has released the first teaser images, offering a glimpse of what’s new in this mid-cycle refresh. Alongside the Ariya, Nissan will also debut the next-generation Elgrand minivan, promising a major leap in interior comfort and hybrid technology.

Subtle Yet Striking Design Changes

Launched in 2022, the Nissan Ariya was one of the brand’s first EVs to showcase its new design philosophy. However, after two years on the market, it’s time for a stylistic update.

According to the first official photos, the facelifted Ariya will adopt a cleaner and more refined exterior, aligning it with Nissan’s latest design language seen on the new Leaf. The front fascia loses the large black panel in the middle, replaced by a sleeker, more integrated look.

Vertical air intakes on the bumper sides have been removed, while the lower air dam is now more restrained and aerodynamic. Nissan also eliminated the

standalone fog lights, which are likely replaced by adaptive functions within the main headlamp units.

Overall, the Ariya looks more modern and cohesive — a natural evolution of the stylish EV crossover.

Interior and Technology Upgrades

While Nissan hasn’t revealed the full cabin yet, it has confirmed that the updated Ariya will receive a new infotainment system with built-in Google services, a significant improvement over the current interface.

The chassis and suspension setup have been retuned for better comfort and stability, especially on uneven roads. Another notable addition is the vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, allowing the Ariya to supply power to external devices, homes, or camping equipment — a feature increasingly popular among EV owners in Japan and Europe.

No major mechanical updates have been announced yet, but it’s safe to expect efficiency and software optimizations for both the single-motor and dual-motor e-4ORCE variants. Nissan is focusing on improving everyday usability and driving refinement rather than raw performance.

Alongside the Ariya facelift, Nissan will showcase the fourth-generation Elgrand, its flagship minivan. Though official images are still under wraps, Nissan promises a roomier, quieter, and more luxurious cabin, equipped exclusively with the third-generation e-Power hybrid system. This setup will likely deliver both stronger performance and lower fuel consumption.

Future Outlook: The Tekton SUV Coming in 2026

Looking ahead, Nissan is already expanding its global SUV lineup. In 2026, the brand will introduce the Nissan Tekton, a compact crossover based on the Dacia Duster platform. Initially targeted at the Indian market, the Tekton is expected to reach other regions later, providing an affordable entry point into Nissan’s SUV family.

The refreshed Nissan Ariya marks the next step in the brand’s electric evolution — blending sharper styling, smarter connectivity, and enhanced comfort. With the upcoming Elgrand hybrid and Tekton crossover, Nissan is clearly positioning itself for a broader global EV and hybrid push in 2025–2026.
