Zeekr 7X 2025: More Power, Longer Range, and Lightning-Fast Charging

Zeekr 7X 2025: More Power, Longer Range, and Lightning-Fast Charging

Zeekr, a premium electric vehicle brand under Geely, has officially opened pre-orders in China for the updated Zeekr 7X, a mid-size electric crossover that has undergone a major technical upgrade. The refreshed model brings stronger motors, longer driving range, and a new-generation charging architecture. While official prices are expected to be announced closer to the start of deliveries on October 28, technical details have already been revealed.

Powertrain and Performance

Powertrain and Performance

The base rear-wheel-drive Zeekr 7X now features a more powerful 503-horsepower electric motor, up from the previous 421 hp. This boost in output allows the SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds, compared to 5.8 seconds in the outgoing version.

Powering the entry-level model is a 75 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery known as the “Golden Brick,” which supports 800-volt architecture. Thanks to the new electrical system, charging from 10% to 80% now takes only 10.5 minutes, while the driving range has increased from 605 km to 620 km (CLTC).

Dual-Motor and Extended Range Variants

Higher trims of the Zeekr 7X have received even more significant improvements. They are now equipped with a 103 kWh CATL battery instead of the previous 100 kWh pack, and upgraded to a 900-volt architecture, similar to that of the flagship Zeekr 001 and 009 models.

In the single-motor long-range version, the car offers up to 802 km of driving range per charge. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration has seen its total system power jump from 646 hp to 795 hp, with a remarkable 0–100 km/h acceleration time of just 2.98 seconds. Despite this incredible performance, the battery can still recharge from 10% to 80% in around 10 minutes, demonstrating Zeekr’s commitment to ultra-fast charging technology.

Smart Technology and Autonomous Features

Beyond power and range improvements, the 2025 Zeekr 7X also gains advanced intelligent systems. The car’s autonomous and safety suite, G-Pilot H7, now runs on the Nvidia Drive U-Thor processor, delivering 700 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of computing power.

This setup supports next-generation driver assistance capabilities, including adaptive cruise control, automated lane changes, high-definition environment sensing, and AI-based decision-making for semi-autonomous driving. Impressively, Zeekr will offer the G-Pilot H7 system as standard across all configurations, signaling its focus on making high-level automation widely accessible.

Design and Interior Enhancements

While Zeekr has focused primarily on technical improvements, subtle updates to the exterior and cabin are expected. The signature minimalist design, aerodynamic silhouette, and full-width LED light bars remain defining features of the 7X lineup. Inside, the crossover retains its premium cabin materials, AI-integrated infotainment system, and 12.8-inch central display, but the new software and chip integration promise smoother interface response and faster voice assistant reactions.

Zeekr continues to emphasize a luxury lounge-like experience, with ambient lighting, zero-gravity seats, and sustainable materials throughout the cabin.

Market Position and Pricing

The previous Zeekr 7X was priced between 229,900 and 269,900 yuan, roughly AED 116,000 to AED 136,000. Given that the newer model brings major technological upgrades, slight price adjustments are expected — though Zeekr has a history of maintaining competitive pricing even after major upgrades.

From January to September 2025, Zeekr sold over 52,000 units of the 7X, representing 36% of the brand’s total sales volume in China — a clear indication of the crossover’s popularity. With this update, Zeekr aims to strengthen its foothold against rivals like the Tesla Model Y, BYD Song L, and NIO ES6 in the premium EV crossover segment.

The refreshed Zeekr 7X shows how rapidly the Chinese EV market is evolving, with models now offering both supercar-level acceleration and practical long-distance usability. With ultra-fast charging, a new-generation processor, and increased power efficiency, the 7X continues Zeekr’s strategy of blending Scandinavian-inspired design with cutting-edge Chinese engineering.

The new Zeekr 7X stands as one of the most technologically advanced crossovers in its class — and a likely contender for global export in 2026.
