Jetour Zongheng G700: A 761-hp Amphibious SUV Built for Adventure

Jetour Zongheng G700: A 761-hp Amphibious SUV Built for Adventure

China’s SUV market continues to surprise the world with bold innovations, and the latest comes from Jetour, which has just unveiled the Zongheng G700. More than just another premium off-roader, this new SUV is capable of driving through deep water for up to 40 minutes, earning it the title of an “amphibious” machine.

Though pricing has not yet been revealed, Jetour has already opened pre-orders in China under its newly launched Zongheng premium sub-brand. With advanced engineering, luxury design, and an extraordinary mix of performance and utility, the G700 is set to challenge rivals like the Yangwang U8 and FangChengBao SUVs.

Dimensions and Rugged Design

Dimensions and Rugged Design

The Zongheng G700 makes a strong first impression with its commanding proportions. It measures 5198 mm long, 2050 mm wide, and 1956 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2870 mm. Ground clearance tops out at an impressive 320 mm, giving the SUV serious off-road potential.

Most remarkable, however, is its ability to wade through nearly one meter of water (970 mm). Thanks to a waterproof body design, the SUV can travel across rivers or flooded terrain at speeds of up to 8 km/h for extended periods—something even most hardcore off-roaders can’t achieve.

Powertrain: 761 hp of Hybrid Strength

Under the hood, the Zongheng G700 combines a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with two electric motors, one of which powers the rear axle. Together, they produce a staggering 761 horsepower and 795 Nm of torque.

This hybrid powertrain launches the SUV from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds—numbers more commonly associated with performance sedans than with large off-road vehicles.

The G700 also boasts a remarkable driving range of up to 1,400 km. With a fully charged battery, fuel consumption drops to just 1.39 liters per 100 km, making it surprisingly efficient for a vehicle of its size and power.

A High-Tech Interior Experience

Inside, the Jetour Zongheng G700 blends futuristic technology with comfort. Instead of a traditional instrument cluster, the SUV features a 35.4-inch ultra-wide digital display that stretches across the base of the windshield.

Additional screens include a 15.6-inch central infotainment display and a 17.3-inch overhead screen for rear passengers, ensuring entertainment for everyone on board. Premium materials and advanced connectivity features round out the high-tech cabin, aligning with the luxury positioning of the Zongheng brand.

Jetour has hinted that the G700 will eventually receive specialized off-road modifications, with prototypes already shown at various auto shows. The SUV has also proven its endurance by competing in a Chinese national rally-raid event, highlighting its rugged engineering and reliability under extreme conditions.

Looking ahead, the Zongheng sub-brand will expand beyond the G700. A pickup truck called the Zongheng F700 has already been spotted undergoing tests, sharing the same platform and overall dimensions as the SUV.

Positioned Against China’s New Premium Off-Road Rivals

The launch of the Zongheng G700 signals Jetour’s ambition to compete directly with new high-end Chinese off-road brands such as Yangwang (BYD) and FangChengBao (Great Wall Motor). These companies are redefining the SUV market by offering high-performance, tech-driven, and adventure-ready vehicles that rival or even surpass Western luxury brands.

The G700’s amphibious ability sets it apart as more than just a luxury SUV—it’s a survivalist’s dream machine designed to tackle the most extreme conditions.

Amphibious SUVs: A Glimpse Into the Future of Adventure Mobility

The Jetour Zongheng G700 is more than a car—it’s a bold statement of what the future of SUVs could look like. With its blend of luxury, raw power, hybrid efficiency, and amphibious capability, it’s redefining expectations in the off-road luxury segment.

For adventurous drivers, the G700 represents freedom—the freedom to go further, deeper, and into places where ordinary SUVs would hesitate.

And while this model is debuting in China, it reflects a global shift toward more innovative SUVs that combine sustainability, luxury, and extreme capability.

SUVs in the UAE: Luxury Meets Off-Road Adventure

In the UAE, SUVs are more than just vehicles—they are a lifestyle. Whether cruising on Sheikh Zayed Road or exploring the desert dunes, premium SUVs remain the top choice for many drivers. While the Jetour Zongheng G700 may not yet be available here, UAE drivers can already enjoy a wide selection of high-performance off-roaders.
