BMW iX3 to Gain M Performance Modification with Power Equal to X5 M
BMW is preparing an exciting update to its electric crossover, the BMW iX3. According to insiders from BMWBlog, the iX3 will receive its first M Performance modification, expected to be unveiled within a year. The upcoming BMW iX3 M60 xDrive is set to feature motors with a combined output of 620–630 horsepower, making it as powerful as the larger BMW X5 M.
Performance Boost and Battery
If the reports are accurate, this version of the iX3 will be a significant performance upgrade, with an increase of 160 horsepower over the standard model. The M60 xDrive variant will retain the same 108.7-kilowatt-hour battery as the current iX3 50, but it will have a slightly reduced range. Currently, the iX3 offers a range of up to 805 kilometers on a single charge, and while the M Performance model may have a shorter range, it will still provide impressive efficiency for its class.

Advanced Suspension and Features
In addition to the enhanced powertrain, the iX3 M60 xDrive will be equipped with an advanced adaptive suspension system, which is expected to improve driving dynamics and ride quality. However, the production of this high-performance electric crossover is not expected to begin until March 2027, leaving enthusiasts eager for its arrival.
BMW iX3 vs. Mercedes-Benz GLC: A Battle of Stylish Crossovers
The iX3’s upcoming performance modification will likely place it in direct competition with other high-end electric crossovers, such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC. With its powerful new motors and refined suspension, the BMW iX3 M60 xDrive promises to offer a thrilling driving experience while maintaining the eco-friendly benefits of an electric vehicle.

iX3 Versions and Availability
BMW has yet to officially confirm the specs of the M60 xDrive, but the company had previously stated its plans to expand the iX3 lineup with both more powerful and more affordable versions. Orders for one of these new versions, the iX3 50, are already being accepted. The iX3 50 is equipped with a 320-horsepower engine and offers a range of up to 635 kilometers on a single charge.
Special Version for the Chinese Market
An interesting feature of the iX3 lineup will be the longer variant for the Chinese market, where the vehicle has been extended by over 100 millimeters. This version of the iX3 will also include local software that caters to both the specific preferences of Chinese consumers and the country's unique driving conditions.
