Unique McLaren 750S Project Viva Celebrates Las Vegas with a Striking Black and White Livery

To mark the night race of the upcoming Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, McLaren has unveiled a special one off 750S Spider called Project Viva. Created by McLaren Special Operations, this exclusive specification pays tribute to the energy, glamour and neon glow of the “City of Lights”. The supercar is displayed to the public in one of the major Las Vegas hotels until 20 November, becoming a centerpoint of attention for both motorsport and luxury car enthusiasts.

Project Viva is not simply a themed colour package. It is a visual interpretation of Las Vegas nights, iconic landmarks and the racing heritage that built McLaren’s global identity. The car sits within the brand’s ongoing effort to showcase bespoke craftsmanship and emotional storytelling through limited production vehicles.

Exclusive Muruwai White and Vegas Nights Finish

MSO developed two custom shades for this project. Muruwai White forms the base colour and is inspired by the clean, bright reflections of desert light. Vegas Nights, the contrasting black tone, features multicolour metallic particles that can shift between blue, purple and green depending on the angle of light. This effect mimics the neon-drenched streets of Las Vegas Boulevard.

The body pattern features stylised graphics that reference iconic Las Vegas architecture, entertainment venues and the pulse of night life. Each detail was hand applied, requiring multiple layers of paint and specialised finishing techniques. MSO confirmed that the entire livery took significantly longer to produce than any standard 750S custom order.

Symbolism and Motorsport Heritage

The Project Viva design includes ten stars positioned on the rear of the car. These stars are a subtle tribute to the ten Constructors’ Championship titles won by McLaren’s Formula 1 team. Other visual elements pay homage to Bruce McLaren, including a stylised interpretation of his 1970 racing helmet.

Through these references, MSO links the glamour of Las Vegas to the spirit of competition. The Las Vegas Grand Prix has already become one of the most anticipated night races on the F1 calendar, and Project Viva serves as a celebration of both the event and McLaren’s deep racing legacy.

McLaren 750S Spider: Technical Foundation of the Project

Although Project Viva is visually unique, it is still based on one of the most advanced supercars in McLaren’s current lineup. The 750S is an evolution of the iconic 720S, introduced in 2023 as a lighter, more powerful and more responsive interpretation of McLaren’s mid-engined supercar formula.

Engine and Powertrain

The heart of the 750S is a 4.0 litre twin turbo V8. This engine delivers 750 hp and 800 Nm of torque. Power is channelled to the rear wheels through a seven speed dual clutch transmission. The boost response, turbo pressure management and torque mapping were revised compared to the 720S, allowing even sharper throttle reactions.

Performance

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 2.8 seconds. The car reaches 0 to 200 km/h in 7.2 seconds, making it one of the fastest open top supercars available today. The top speed exceeds 330 km/h. These numbers remain unchanged for Project Viva, since the modifications focus on design rather than mechanical components.

Lightweight Construction

The MonoCage II carbon fibre monocoque chassis keeps the weight of the 750S extremely low. The Spider version requires additional structural elements for the retractable hardtop, yet still remains exceptionally light due to McLaren’s focus on carbon engineering. Active aerodynamics, reduced unsprung mass and revised suspension geometry contribute to exceptional agility.

Suspension and Dynamics

The Proactive Chassis Control system was improved for the 750S generation. It creates a more connected front axle, sharper turn in response and a wider handling envelope. Project Viva retains the same setup, meaning the bespoke supercar is not only visually striking but also fully capable of delivering McLaren’s signature driving experience.

A Canvas for Special Series Versions

The 750S has already proven itself as a perfect base for MSO collaborations. Earlier in the year, McLaren introduced the 750S Le Mans edition, featuring exclusive aerodynamic refinements and distinctive colour schemes inspired by endurance race tradition.

Project Viva follows this philosophy, but with a more emotional and location centered story. The Las Vegas concept, tied to the city’s debut F1 night race, demonstrates how MSO can transform technical engineering into a visually expressive piece of art.

Display in Las Vegas and Future Uncertainty

Project Viva is currently showcased publicly in a Las Vegas hotel lobby, attracting crowds even outside the F1 event calendar. McLaren has not announced what will happen to the car after 20 November. The brand has not confirmed whether it will be auctioned, delivered to a private collector or remain as part of a corporate display collection. Given MSO’s past practices, any of these scenarios are possible.

Why Project Viva Matters for Supercar Culture

Las Vegas has always symbolised extravagance, performance and bold self expression. Project Viva captures this through a combination of design innovation and motorsport heritage. For enthusiasts in the UAE, where McLaren enjoys a strong following, the model represents what a supercar can become when art meets engineering and when city culture becomes part of automotive storytelling.

For renters and collectors in Dubai, the debut reminds that supercar design continues to move beyond pure performance metrics and into emotional identity. Cars like the 750S remain among the most desirable models for those seeking both speed and exclusivity.
